Great opening for new golf school

Enjoyed three phenomenal days of opening ceremonies for the newest Jim McLean Golf School in downtown Miami on the 19th floor of the new J.W. Marriott Marquis.

Over 850 people came to the opening of the newest location of the Jim McLean Golf School

On the first night, the entire Miami Heat basketball team came down and I gave Dwyane Wade a lesson. At the Grand Opening, we had 850 guests and it was a spectacular setting as you can see from the photo. Guests included Alex Rodriguez, Jamie Foxx, and Anna Kournikova. Alexis Thompson got to meet Anna, which was exciting. Alexis went on the golf simulator and hit a drive 308 yards.

It was a memorable evening.

Back at the school, I’ve been working with Keegan Bradley who finished 14th on the Nationwide Tour official money list and earned his PGA Tour card. He’s coming along really well. We’ve got some excellent juniors at the school this year. It’s been really busy at Doral.

I was out west for a University of Houston golf team reunion…a lot of fun to see contemporaries like Fuzzy Zoeller and Bruce Lietzke…also fun to meet the current team. We now have eight juniors in the full-time program at the Fort Worth location of the Jim McLean Golf School.

Back to the downtown Miami location…it’s really exciting to be opening golf schools and thanks to everyone who helped to make it happen.
